So many people throw away perfectly good wood into the trash. HOUT rescues it and gives it new life as timeless, durable and beautiful objects for the home.
I am someone who lived in Amsterdam and saw such a large amount of trash in the streets, and lots of it still useful. It made me angry to see objects being treated as disposable and I wanted to do something about it.
I began to collect wood that was being thrown away and began to design new objects. I wanted people to be conscious of where the things in their home come from, as well as to create long lasting designs that are both durable and timeless.
I want to provide quality goods at a fair price. I want people to purchase objects that will be in their home for years and decades to come. I want them to feel good about keeping things out of the trash stream.
